In addition to YouTube Music Premium, Google is re-branding YouTube Red as YouTube Premium. And the service's home screen will dynamically adapt based on users' preferences, history, even location (for example, you'll be offered some blood-pumping music while at the gym). We caught wind of a new service coming past year and it was meant to arrive in March, so it's only a couple of months late.

Apart from YouTube Music, Google-owned YouTube will also be re-launching YouTube Red as YouTube Premium. Specifically, the Google platform has confirmed that it will be a service where we will have both free plans (with ads) and paid plans that will allow us to access millions of official songs and music videos. So you still get background playback, the ability to store videos for offline viewing and an ad-free viewing experience as well. According to the blog post from YouTube, YouTube Premium will cost you $11.99 per month. YouTube Premium will be rolling out in its existing markets starting on May 22.

However, you might want to put your credit card away for now. It will be available in the U.S., Mexico, Australia and New Zealand on May 22nd, with more countries to follow.

The good thing is if you are a Play Music subscriber you will get the YouTube Music premium membership as part of your subscription each month.
